I am glad you were not hurt, but it must have been scary. Mom had a deer crash-land on her car back in the fifties on the way home from Pittsburgh. She wasn't hurt, but the car was totaled.
People around here insist that whistles on the front bumpers keep the deer and moose away. Need to get some for the new Prius. Seemed to work on the old car.
First of all the deer came running fast. I doubt it would have heard a cannon. Second - the whistles seem to fall off everybody's car around here. I had them on an older car and they lasted less than a month. Third a state trooper said they see as many accidents with whistles as without. The problem is too many people and too many deer trying to occupy the same space. We need better hunters and more licenses perhaps.
For Margaret and Joel who are true disciples ministering to the people on the poorest Native American reservation in the US. And especially for Margaret who has more funerals in a month than most priests have in several years. And thanks for allowing the children to call her Grandma. She is the best possible person/priest in her position. For Peg and Jim. For all those who believe that guns can solve our problems. For our dysfunctional Congress. For Christ Church Meadville. For R and D especially for R. For me. For Ward. For Bro John. For Jim, especially. For those in the church who are distressed. For A as she deals with dysfunction. For Ginny. For Amelia. For Julie Anne. For Danny. For Amy. For J's mom. For Art and Mary. For rain in California. For Jeri. For Caleb and those who research RA. For J and D. For Tim and Ruth. For Ted. For VC and N. For Lee. For S and P.

No, I was not hurt.
Any news about how the deer is doing?
Yes. It was apparently killed on impact as it is in the ditch next to the road. One fewer overgrown rodent with hooves as Maria calls them.

. . . or less people.
The US government seems to be working on fewer people but not in our neighborhood. We have natural gas of all sorts but no oil.
I guess I could say "oh, deer!" Anyway I'm glad you were not hurt.
I'm with MadPriest ... fewer people. The deer were here first.
