My opinion on the Archbishop of Canterbury's Pentecost, um, message
Invite everyone to the eucharist. Those who come and share are Anglicans in communion. Those who don't or won't are something else. That should settle the property disagreements too.
I've been saying it for years but, so far, nobody is listening. The arch conservative in our parish and I hug every Sunday he shows up. The clergy are the problem.
The Anglican Communion has become either a pissing contest or a dick contest. Either way it is a big competition for power among primarily male clergy. "My interpretation is correct" is analogous to "Mine is better" IMNSHO.
Found you through "Inch at a Time" (also on Blogger) -- and *YES.*
We're one family because we come to one table. Anyone who'll show up to dinner is family; anyone who decides to come later -- even at the eleventh hour -- is family too.
Which feline, Gören? 7 have taken up residence in my neighborhood. PuddyTat would not take the responsibility but she would rule anyhow. She is the matriarch and the others know it.
For Margaret and Joel who are true disciples ministering to the people on the poorest Native American reservation in the US. And especially for Margaret who has more funerals in a month than most priests have in several years. And thanks for allowing the children to call her Grandma. She is the best possible person/priest in her position. For Peg and Jim. For all those who believe that guns can solve our problems. For our dysfunctional Congress. For Christ Church Meadville. For R and D especially for R. For me. For Ward. For Bro John. For Jim, especially. For those in the church who are distressed. For A as she deals with dysfunction. For Ginny. For Amelia. For Julie Anne. For Danny. For Amy. For J's mom. For Art and Mary. For rain in California. For Jeri. For Caleb and those who research RA. For J and D. For Tim and Ruth. For Ted. For VC and N. For Lee. For S and P.

Imagine all the time, energy, paper, ink, and cyberspace that could be saved if they would just settle on this. FWIW, you've got my vote.

So when are you starting the FB fan group of this statement? (big grin)
Not, Kirke.

Yeah...I like this too.
Short, simple, direct, to the point, right. Thank you.
Touché.
Makes more sense than the idiot "covenant" and most of the other touchstones I I have seen.

I would appoint you ABC in a heartbeat... except I like you, so I won't.
I also believe that what you describe is the reality and the rest is all illusion.
Whew! Paul, I have no interest in being Senior Warden, let alone being ordained.

Love the kitten! Make it the ABC...

Right on, Pseudo! Tell it like it is!

Which demonstrates it will never be church politics or officially good theology.
Seems to me to be genuinely Anglican however.
Sounds 'bout right, Shelley. Well said. Twould be interesting to get that into the canons
