Another Memorial Day parade with Women in Black

The Memorial Day parade stretches up Chestnut Street in Meadville, PA.

Women in Black marched as usual. There are far too few of us to carry a flag for every person killed in the Iraq/Afghanistan war so far. When I first started marching with them, we could carry all the flags. Now there are too many of them and too few of us. I wonder how many more years we will be marching.

We were all happy it was a morning parade. 90° is waaaaaay too hot for May.

Ninety degrees in May? This can't be the Meadville of memory. Went to an outdoor wedding there one June. What could the family be thinking? It was so windy and chilly that the paper plates wouldn't stay on the tables and all the guests crowded into the kitchen, leaving the caterers outside in the tent.

55 at the moment so June is beginning with a little welcome chill and needed rain. Predicted high of near 70 is far closer to normal.
