Bach Choir of Pittsburgh will present Handel's oratorio Israel in Egypt at Trinity Cathedral in downtown Pittsburgh at 8 pm on Saturday, 6 December, and at 4 pm on Sunday, 7 December 2008. Tickets available at the door and from ProArtsTickets.org.As has become customary with Thomas Douglas's programming, there will be a few nontraditional elements in this performance including a parting of the Red Sea. Wish I could be there. I love Israel in Egypt, esp. the parts about the frogs and the hailstones, and, of course, the song of Miriam. Would like to see how the parting of the Red Sea is accomplished.
